Dara Lynott is currently the Deputy Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since 2010 and in 2012 took over responsibility for the Office of Climate, Licensing and Research.
Dara Lynott graduated from the National University of Ireland, Galway with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil) and from Northeastern University, Boston with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow with Engineers Ireland and is also a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Vermont. He worked as a consultant in Boston for eight years in the design of municipal solid waste, hazardous waste and wastewater treatment facilities. He joined the EPA in and in 2004 he was appointed as a Director of the Environmental Protection Agency with responsibility for the Office of Environmental Enforcement.
